Original painting, ink on basswood tree slice, approximately 11″ x 15″. This is one of the pieces I completed during my stay at home residency. It’s called Seed Season and it’s an exploration, among other things, of this time of year when all the flowering plants begin to set a million seeds and prepare for next spring. I’ve been busy gathering the seed heads of zinnias and sunflowers and asters and blanket wheel in my yard and scattering them into other beds to come back next year. In awe of how the growing world persists and reproduces itself.
